Hiya! My name is Craig Andrew Brown, and as I mentioned above, I'm from the lovely town of Ayr, on the South-West coast of Scotland. I grew up in Castle Douglas, a small market town about 50 miles South in rural Dumfries & Galloway. I had a rather traditional upbringing, with my Father, himself an engineer, bringing about in me a strong interest in technical pursuits; and a lot of my spare time when I was very young were whiled away with construction-based toys.Â
As I grew older, I began to spend time in the garage with him working on project cars we acquired at reasonable rates from an auction house in Dalry, and it was in doing so that I began to develop my mechanical competence, working with Internal Combustion Engines along with many other aspects involved in Automotive Engineering. It is worth noting also that we travelled a lot, and for me the highlight was always the aircraft; the means by which we would reach our destination.
Eventually, I joined the RAF Air Cadets, and following the end of my education, began working for a small charity fighting digital inclusion; refurbishing donated devices for people in need and assisting people in the community to upskill themselves in the realms of technology. I was successful in selection for a course in HNC Aircraft Engineering at Ayrshire College; passing with an A-grade in my Graded Unit. Thanks to my success at college, I was offered an Engineering Apprenticeship with the National Air Traffic Service which I graciously accepted, and I have been continuing my employ with The Service ever since, thoroughly enjoying my experience.
